I’ve had an interest in taking photos for as long as I can remember. I still own the first camera that I purchased myself, a Sears KSX Super (a rebranded Ricoh) with a 50mm 1.7 lens. It’s an amazing camera and though I hardly shoot film any more, two crisper drawers of my refrigerator are full of 35 and 120mm film. I was slow to transition to digital, mainly because the first digital cameras to produce good images were unaffordable to me. I eventually purchased the 10 megapixel Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 in 2008. An excellent little camera that I still own and occasionally carry in my pocket. My original Instagram username, @Lumixlab, was derived from that little camera and Jack, my chocolate Labrador that I had at the time.

Over the years I have photographed all the common genres: landscape, portrait, street, sports and still life. Street photography was a favorite of mine. It was much different twenty years ago. People weren’t so concerned with being photographed in public as they are today. Kind of ironic when you consider that it’s difficult to go anywhere now without being captured on video.

Now in my sixties, I photograph what interests me. I created this website to share those images.
