Michael Mauldin is an American photographer whose work centers on everyday life, small towns and the changing visual landscape of America.

He has been making photographs for more than 40 years. He began working with film eventually transitioning to digital. Over the years he has worked in a wide range of photographic genres including documentary, landscape, portraiture, fine art, street, lifestyle and sports.

Much of Mauldin’s current work comes from time spent traveling back roads through small towns and rural communities. He photographs what catches his attention along the way, often finding subjects in ordinary places and situations that might otherwise go unnoticed.

His photographs are less about landmarks and nostalgia than about noticing what is actually there. He is interested in the unexpected, the humorous, and the ordinary moments that often say the most about a place.

After more than four decades with a camera, Mauldin now photographs mostly out of curiosity and personal interest. This website is simply a place to bring that work together and share the photographs he continues to make.
