From the summer of 2016 to the fall of 2019, I captured a series of images documenting the scenes and activities at Decker’s Flea Market and Foster’s Trading Post, nestled at the crossroads of U.S. Highways 129 and 64, just west of Murphy, NC. This project came to an abrupt end due to the unforeseen challenges brought about by the 2020 pandemic. Regrettably, at the time of this writing, both establishments have yet to fully recover and reclaim their former glory.
