A common sight on the roads I’ve traveled, roadside memorials have for years caught my attention. Each one marks a place where someone’s life was tragically lost. I have come across simple wooden or PVC crosses as well as more elaborate structures that are painted, stained, and decorated with trinkets, handwritten messages, solar lights, or photographs. Whatever form, these memorials are clearly cared for. They are lovingly maintained by the people who want to honor and remember someone they loved and still miss.
